Looks pretty good! There's certainly a nice amount of depth to it, and your finished lines are well placed.
Don't discount the benefit of life drawing, though. Even though we may want to draw or animate cartoons, it really helps greatly to learn a more realistic style of drawing before moving to the extreme style of cartoons. Draw your reference first, then draw a cartoon from it, instead of drawing the cartoon straight from reference. Trust me, it will help a lot! :)
